Wedding Photographer Charleston
It is really an honor to have been a wedding photographer in Charleston for over 20 years. It is something the world has passed by. All the Charleston traditions, beautiful centuries old venues as well as the low country cuisine.
One tradition I would like to start is for brides and grooms to be extra thoughtful about all the older folks in our humid heat and sunshine. Whether they are a server, or your Grandmother. Caution and thought are important as sitting in the sunshine with no shade, long walks to ceremony locations or just having cold water stations conveniently located won't change your plans much. This will avoid some of the terrible accidents we have been privy to, 80 yr.old. Grandma falling on a sandy cement sidewalk, and several even more serious.
This makes your special day even more so.

Charleston Beach Weddings
Charleston beach weddings are truly a thing of beauty. For example, yesterday, we did a wedding at a secluded, special section of Folly Island. Unfortunately, the weather was a little more than iffy as for two days prior it rained. Didn't slow down much until the day of the wedding.
By the time the wedding was supposed to start...no bride AND the Sun was out. Ten minutes later it was lightly raining. 15 minutes later the Bride and entourage arrived. As suddenly as she appeared, again the rain stopped and the Sun came out again. Just as the couple was about to cut the cake, it started to lightly sprinkle. We quickly retreated to our J.I.C. ( just in case) lean to. The pictures still turned out great from under there! The beach photos were awesome with or without sun, or rain,
Basically, the weather changes every ten to fifteen minutes (seems this way) and is only one tiny and sometimes bothersome beach experience. 90% of the time, the sun is out and it's lovely. This is why we love Charleston beach weddings. The surroundings bring out the best in the couple. The beauty of the couple only stands out more in these lush island settings.

Summer's half over. Hard to believe. I will admit, I don't post much to our blog simply because I just don't have the time with all the weddings that are taking place this time of year. I just wanted to publish this photo. A little creative editing makes the image my current favorite. I entitled it "Pink Lady".

Morris Brown, AME Church Charleston SC
It is always a joy and a privilege to photograph a wedding in this Church. Everyone is so nice and helpful, the church always looks great. But beyond all that is the history behind the church.
We have always been asked; "it's awfully dark in here, will you be able to shoot.?" The answer for twenty plus years has always been "We are pros and look at the size of this flash...we could shoot a football field in the dark." It's still the same answer, yes we can.................. But, the true passion, for me anyway is the keeper and creator of memories. Makes me feel immortal, sort of. The trust on part of the bride and groom to capture their memories, but I feel we CWP are adding this couple to the wonderful history of this church. I imagine Matthew Todd must have felt the same way. Thank God we are capturing something much happier. I imagine I would have done just what Matthew Todd and the others did...to do our job and record history. What an awesome and burdensome task that I welcome every time. Add an historic church and I am truly in awe before, during and after all the photographs have been edited.
